Tubes

Ben had an appointment with the ENT on Wednesday which lead to him having tubes put in the next morning.

The picture above is while he was in the pre-op room. He looks real sad right!

He did great and was back to his grumpy nature soon after!

Later that day he stuck his hand inside a drinking fountain and sliced two of his fingers. After that he walked around with one hand raised in the air and the other on his ear!

We love this boy.

Dance Festival

Once again another first......DANCE FESTIVAL! Dance festival is where every grade preforms a dance.

Again I did my over parenting and went 1 hour early to get front row seats. It was all in vain because people would come stand in front of us to get close up pictures of their kids as they got their groove on. Oh well, now I know and knowing is half the battle!

Samantha was not to sure about dancing in front of everyone and HAD to have her Dad watch her. She could careless about the boys and I.

She did great and is now OUT FOR SUMMER!

Field Day

Another milestone in our family....the first FIELD DAY! The boys and I joined Samantha on her field day. (Mostly because I over parent and can't miss any events in her classroom.)

We walked from her school to the park with all 5 Kindergarten classes. The kids played for a couple of hours ate pizza and they walked back to the school.

Samantha did the monkey bars the whole time and is so proud that she can now skip 2 bars! She has calluses on her hands that I pray will go away now that she doesn't have recess!

The highlight of the morning was a little boy who spun around most of the two hours and then threw up all over another girl!
Ben has a new love, the little shopping carts at the grocery store. Samantha and Will also love the carts but, they are better drivers than Ben. He gets so excited he runs around like a wild man.
While highly entertaining this event has tripled the time it take me to grocery shop.

Memorial Day Weekend

We were boring and stayed at home for Memorial Day weekend.
We did venture out and took the kids to Cabela's. I love FREE entertainment....wait we spent a couple dollars in the shooting gallery! It amazes me that besides the fish nothing moves yet, they love it.
The pool opened and Samantha wanted to go but it wasn't that warm so we had a picnic at the park outside the pool. Mostly so Samantha could see the lifeguard's wearing their sweatshirts.

St. George

The kids and I went to St. George for a couple of days to help my parents clean their house. Will and Samantha loved their ride in the Uhaul. Ben loved saying A, A, A and having everyone feed him SEVERAL times a day.
My Dad took them to a cool park up the bike trail. I can't figure out why someone made a park that is silver and black in St. George and didn't put a shade over it. It was 10:30 a.m. and most of the things were to hot for them to touch.
The kids loved the pool and they had it all to themselves the whole time.
Their is a park a short ways down the bike trail that they would visit several times a day. Ben loved the slide, Samantha loved the monkey bars and Will loved climbing everything. They even got Grandpa to go down the slides with them!
We came home to a wonderful surprise. Dave had installed new baseboards, a new security light and started on our railing. I am so lucky!

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we took a walk up the canyon to find some foliage for Samantha's school project. It was great to watch my kids play in the trees, mud and river on Mother's Day! I love watching them explore and laugh with each other. In the parking lot there was a pile of sand that they could have spent all day playing on.

Samantha gave me a book she wrote entitled "A Story About Me". I loved reading it and looking at her illustrations. My favorite page said the following, "My pet fish died because my mom put something that will make him die."
Will gave me a card he had painted and a flower he made at school. It was also cute and I was so proud of him. When I told him thank you and that he did a good job he said, "Dawn did it". Dawn is his aide at school. At least he is honest.
Ben wasn't too sure about the sand, mud or water. He just wanted to watch from a distance. He was laughing at his silly brother and sister though.
Our family had their first diorama. Samantha had to make a habitat for an Alligator and present it with four facts about the Alligator.
Since this was a first at our house I didn't know quite how to go about it. I wanted her to do it but, I didn't want her to get to school and have the other kids present dioramas their parents had made and have her disappointed.
We had just watched an episode of the Simpson's about Homer helicopter parenting. That is when you hover above every move your child makes.
Dave kept telling me I was being a helicopter during the process. Once again he was right. When I brought her diorama into her class I discovered I did helicopter parent a little too much. Samantha did help but I did more than I should. Lesson learned I guess.

Happy Anniversary

Dave and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary on May 8, 2009. My parents were kind and brave enough to take our kids for the evening so we went to dinner, a movie, slept in past 7:30 a.m., and went to the climbing gym!
Dave is the rock in my life and I am so thankful for him. Our 9 year of marriage have been wonderful but not without trials. No matter what we come up against Dave is so calm and has such a great perspective on life. Since I am crazy and freak out I need that. He is an amazing father and our kids think he is Superman. I love to watch him with interact with the kids and see the light in their eyes. Dave also works hard and sacrifices a lot for our family. I am so lucky I married this amazing man!

Family Fun

Our kids LOVE the park by our house. Dave took a break from his busy schedule and we took the kids over there to release their energy. I wish I could take in the energy they release. Samantha tells people she is part Japanese and part monkey because she loves the monkey bars.
My Kids are following in their Father's footsteps. They set up their own computer work stations. The stations included keyboards, pillows for screens and a phone. I love their creativity.
