Announcing a TEMPORARY new addition to our family. Squeakers was FOUND on July 1, 2009 on on front lawn after a wind/rain storm. Dave went to pick up what he thought was a piece of trash off the lawn but it ended up being Squeakers.Squeakers had not mastered the art of flying yet so until he has got it down and the crazy weather is out of the forecast we are keeping him inside.
Our great neighbors have done this bird rescue thing a few time and they have an Uncle who is a Vet that they called to get information for us on how to properly care for Squeakers. Thanks Megan! We lucked out because our dear Squeakers only needs to eat every 1 1/2 to 2 hours....ALL day and NIGHT. I thought we were done with the nightly baby feedings.
Squeakers has increased his flying skills and sometimes escapes and perches throughout the house. However, the flying is not up to hummingbird speed.
The weather has rainstorm in the forecast the next couple of days so we will probably keep Squeakers until there is a clear day where we can make sure it can fend for itself.

What a thrill to get that close to a hummingbird - it has always been a dream of mine. Still waiting. Hope you are doing well and had a nice 4th of July. The fireworks look like fun with your crazy Harris neighbors. J/K Yoiur kids are so cute.
